Cloud Hosted Setup

  1. Purchase your Exchange Sync Bridge subscription.
  2. A Microsoft 365 administrator approves the Exchange Sync Bridge enterprise application through Microsoft's admin consent page.
  3. Microsoft redirects back with tenant information.
  4. Your license key is redeemed.
  5. Your installation receives an install API key.
  6. Your IT admin updates your existing software's Exchange Sync settings so it contacts Exchange Sync Bridge.
  7. Your existing software continues using its Exchange Sync feature through ESB.

Customer-Hosted Setup

  1. Purchase or request the Customer-Hosted plan.
  2. Install the Exchange Sync Bridge Windows service on a server in your environment.
  3. Complete the same Microsoft 365 admin consent process.
  4. Redeem your license key and obtain the install API key.
  5. Configure the Windows service and client software settings.
  6. Test sync traffic through your customer-hosted relay.

What You Need Before Setup

  • Microsoft 365 administrator access for one-time consent.
  • The existing software that currently uses Exchange Sync.
  • Access to update the Exchange Sync endpoint/settings in that software.
  • A list of users configured to use Exchange Sync.
  • For Customer-Hosted deployments, a suitable Windows server.

What Users Need To Do

In most deployments, end users do not need to do anything. There is no ESB user login and no ESB password to distribute.
